The theory behind Lego Therapy is to allow the pupils to learn through play. This alternative curriculum subject allows the pupils to put into practice, through practical lessons, what they have learnt in other curriculum subjects such as Maths, Science and ICT.
Through Lego Therapy the pupils will gain communication skills, an understanding in engineering and physics and the ability to generate ideas and turn them into reality. The pupils also learn the ability to problem solve through testing and evaluation.
Pupils also learn programming skills through Lego Therapy. This is a valuable skill as the programming industry is growing and the world turns ever more digital. IT based jobs contributed £55 billion to the UK economy in 2016 with that figure growing year on year.
